Mango Coconut Broth ( Buttermilk Sambaar)


Ingredients


  • Mango pulp - 9 oz

  • Ripe mango – 1 (peeled and diced)

  • Mango Coconut Sambaar Mix – Full Pack

  • Buttermilk – 19 oz OR  Plain yogurt – 1 cup

  • Water – 1 cup (plus more if needed)

  • Oil – 1 tablespoon

  • Mustard seeds (optional) – 1 teaspoon

  • Curry leaves – 5 to 6 leaves

  • Salt – to taste


Directions

  • Prepare the Base : In a mixing bowl, combine:

    • Mango pulp

    • Mango Coconut Sambaar Mix

    • Buttermilk or yogurt with 1 cup of water

      Mix well until smooth. If using yogurt, ensure there are no lumps.

  • Add the Mango

    • Cut the mango into small square pieces and add to the mixture.

    • The consistency should be like a light broth — not too thick.

    • Add more water if needed.

    • Season with salt to taste.

  • Temper the Spices

    • In a pan, heat oil over medium heat.

    • (Optional) Add mustard seeds and let them pop.

    • Add curry leaves and sauté for 20–30 seconds.

  • Combine & Simmer

    • Carefully pour the mango mixture into the hot pan.

    • Stir gently and bring the sambaar to a boil.

    • Once it reaches a gentle boil, turn off the heat.

  • Serve !

    • Your Mango Sambaar is ready!
