Mango Coconut Broth ( Buttermilk Sambaar)
Ingredients
Mango pulp - 9 oz
Ripe mango – 1 (peeled and diced)
Mango Coconut Sambaar Mix – Full Pack
Buttermilk – 19 oz OR Plain yogurt – 1 cup
Water – 1 cup (plus more if needed)
Oil – 1 tablespoon
Mustard seeds (optional) – 1 teaspoon
Curry leaves – 5 to 6 leaves
Salt – to taste
Directions
Prepare the Base : In a mixing bowl, combine:
Mango pulp
Buttermilk or yogurt with 1 cup of water
Mix well until smooth. If using yogurt, ensure there are no lumps.
Add the Mango
Cut the mango into small square pieces and add to the mixture.
The consistency should be like a light broth — not too thick.
Add more water if needed.
Season with salt to taste.
Temper the Spices
In a pan, heat oil over medium heat.
(Optional) Add mustard seeds and let them pop.
Add curry leaves and sauté for 20–30 seconds.
Combine & Simmer
Carefully pour the mango mixture into the hot pan.
Stir gently and bring the sambaar to a boil.
Once it reaches a gentle boil, turn off the heat.
Serve !
